- Get a proper amount of sleep and rest. Rest helps with physical and mental wellness.
- Reduce your stres
- Stop smoking. Smoking contributes to heart disease, cancer and interferes with wound and bone healing. See your primary care physicians for tips and recommendations to stop smoking
- Use alcohol in moderation.
- Stay current on yearly wellness exams including mammograms, cholesterol screenings, immunizations, colonoscopy and bone density test.
- Be sure to keep all health care providers informed of all medications you take including prescription drugs, over the counter medications, vitamins and herbal supplements. Also, make sure all health care providers are informed of any medication allergy and side effect.
- Be sure to check with your primary care provider before beginning a new diet and/or exercise program.
- Take all medications as prescribed.
- Eat a healthy diet.
