Out-Patient Surgery Information

Pre-Surgical Information

  • Our office nurse will review pre-surgical instructions and provide information regarding when and where your surgery will be, and inform you if any pre-operative tests are required.

  • Please ensure our office nurse has a complete list of all medications you take including prescriptions, over the counter medications, herbal supplements and vitamins.  Any changes should be reported to our office nurse.

  • You must make arrangements for a driver to take you home after surgery.  You will not be permitted to drive the same day as surgery.

  • You will need to have someone stay with you at home after surgery and possibly for a few days following your surgery.  Please make those arrangements in advance.

  • Remember, our office nurses are here to serve you!  Any questions prior to surgery should be directed to our office nurses during business hours, 8AM-5PM, Monday-Friday.

Post-Surgical Information

  • Please phone our office for a follow up appointment after your surgery.

  • Our office nurse will phone you with post surgery instructions and to answer any questions you may have.

  • Please phone our office immediately if you have a temperature of 101 degrees or greater, drainage that looks infected, or calf pain.

  • Any shortness of breath and/or chest pain, please go to your nearest emergency room or call 911.

  • Any other concerns should be directed to our office.  During business hours, our office nurse will return you phone call.  After hours, our doctor on call will return your call.
